What I liked about Mr. Johnson method of teaching was the different units we learned Tupac etc.. A suggestion I would give Mr.Johnson would be get the class more involved or interacted and I hate textlogs

I know that im not a sophomore anymore but i loved to see my underclassmen grow and gaining knowledge. When i was in my second year of Mr. J's class i believe that my favorite unit was Tupac and Mysticism, because I never really grew up listening to tupac and the only thing I knew about him was when he died (1996) and for mysticism, I loved seeing Spirited away with the whole class. It has always been my childhood movie. Hope all of my upcoming juniors show their all.

Through out the school year i believe Mr.Johnson did a goo job teaching. For example, he would connect what we were learning about to other topics. He would also always find a way to have us interact with our peers which is good. Although he could use some improvement certain ares. Like he would often go of topic which would waist our time. Also, he would also give out text logs which i didn't enjoy.

I agree with the text logs portion because after a year of doing it they do get boring, but they do help later when writing because of structure whether it is A.B.C. or P.E.E.

Mr. J came up with a very well and creative final that I never imagined that i would do. It was very fun and yet challenging and other than it being a test with stuff we will never remember. The bad things are, he would get side tracked a lot.

The "Marshmallow" lesson seems more effective with phones.As well as your new cell phone policy, which does need work, which is a simple solution to a problem. Time Management is a fault of ours, it seems frustrating starting on stuff late and ending t hings early.

Mr. Johnson's teaching reminds me of a teacher who teaches from a comic book because it's a unique way of teaching where others can't understand what the teacher is teaching except for the students. His teaching skills always surprise me because of what he does when a student is off topic and he connects it to a lesson that we are learning about. I agree with the way he teaches but he sometimes need to tone it down for a bit for the students who don't really understand what's going on and another thing is that he should do is make himself clearer by explaining it little by little but other than that he teaches great.

1 things Mr. Johnson did well this year was giving more time than last year for our final. Another thing he did well was making sure the beginning of class wasn't boring with the new books he got.

Mr.Johnson is a great teacher, the 2 years i have study at Luther Burbank, he has been one of the 2 teachers that have the been the best here. He knows how to teach what he wants us to learn. Something he needs to improve on would be if someone disrepects or doesn't follow instructions, he should be more strict to students and not give too many chances. Another thing Johnson is good at is providing us with sufficient materials to make sure we pass the class, The 2 years I had him he would always provide me with the work so that I wouldn't fail his class.

the 2 things Mr.Johnson did well was the time, Mr.J gave us a lot of time to work on this project. the second thing Mr.J did well was he walk us through it most of the time and he made everything understandable those are the 2 thing Mr.J did well. the 2 thing Mr.J didn't do good at was getting side track while talking about school, the other thing he didn't do good was he didn't do anything if people where acting up

Mr.Johnson way of teaching is good he makes lessons very interesting and fun.you have this good way of teaching which feels like you demonstrate then have us do it ourselves now that we know what were doing. things you could do better is still let us read full time on Thursday instead of cutting the time down. You could also make textlogs due more often.

Two things Mr. Johnson did well was explaining & making sure we understand what we are doing.Two things he needs to work on is spelling & make his sentences more understandable. He can explain what we are doing better with words than writing it down.

Two things that Mr.J did well was he helped me to learn how to use context clues,also that he showed me to be able to interpret and stop having so much of a fixed mind set. But something that was hard to understand was when he would talk about something but not show us also he's not strict enough at times

i have learn lots of things from Mr. J. For example, we learn how to use predict, connect, question, context clues, summarize, interpret, synthesize, and monitor & repair. Mr. J had teach me some new skills that i haven't learn.

2 things Mr.Johnson does good is explaining and to make sure we stay on track. 2 things Mr.Johnson needs to work on is his spelling and to make his sentences neater. Other than that he is a great teacher.

over this year Mr.J has shown some faults and some perfection's. He always makes sure that he hears our side of our arguments. He is also very fare with his decisions. There are some things that has to work on like being more strict with us and also taking more control with the class.

2 things that Mr. Johnson did very well is that he always is straight forward in what he says and explains himself very clearly. Although he has to be more firm on his rules and not tolerate disrespectful behavior.

Mr.Johnson is good at is bringing every off topic conversation back on topic and he is also pretty good at re-phrasing questions. Some things he can improve on is his handwriting because it can be kind of sloppy at times and also to put the disrespectful kids in their place (:

Mr. Johnson is without a doubt my favorite out of my six teachers. Mr. Johnson would go in depth when answering questions and giving us lectures on the subject. I really like his style of teaching and his use of the different units. Despite Mr. Johnson's great teaching habits, there are some that I did not agree with, such as the importance of the text log. Mr. Johnson's patience levels are high, higher than other teachers that I have, but sometimes that makes me wonder if Mr. Johnson is just too nice, allowing students to take advantage of that. Overall, there are a couple things that Mr. J can work on, but that's only a small portion of the great school year that was a result of being in Mr. Johnson's class.

Two things you've done well that has helped me this year was the text logs. Another thing is that you have empathy towards us students. But what you haven't done quite well is explaining to us about what we're supposed to do. This leaves us clueless. You pause the movies too much which I understand that it'll helps us but at the same time we won't get the message from the movie we're watching.

Mr.Johnson you did a lot in the past year and I did notice some flaws in your teaching during those years. What you did right is our lessons plan and what we learned. It was interesting learning about Tupac and his life and the problems illegal immagrants faced today. I also noticed your great choices of the movies we watched because there interesting and awesome but some students hate when pause the movie during some scenes but I think its important to do that. Now here are some flaws, this class is very loud and annoying and we get held back fro the other periods which is annoying so you have to man up and give these people some detention because they are really a big distractions in the class. Another flaw is that this class gets boring and when you're talking about something I just space out and get distract in other things which isn't normal for me.

Mr. J is a great teacher not because he is nice or anything like that, but because from his past mistakes he learned. Mr. J knows how to engage the students and pull their attention towards himself. I believe Mr. J teaches amazing because he uses his method of not talking when things get bad in class, somehow the students know that its time to get ourselves back on track. Mr. J is great but of course everybody has their flaws. Mr.J drags on too much sometimes and especially on the worst topics ever. When I'm in Mr. J's class I feel like I can't be organized because Mr J is always throwing assignments your way non stop. Overall Mr. J is a teacher who taught me more than any other teacher.

Mr. Johnson is good at going into detail and explaining things thoroughly to lost students. He's also good at elaborating on ideas to make sure everybody else understands where hes coming from. however Something Mr.Johnson can change, or do better is listen to what students are talking about on certain topics. He tends to consider some peoples thoughts as off topic or wrong, when truthfully hearing it out could be good. Other than that Mr. Johnson has the teaching game down it looks like, and will for many years to come.

this year was an interesting year with Mr.Johnson. He was very good at breaking down topics and explaining what they meant to the students. He also was very good at teaching us different type of writing styles . But something that could have been improved was his confusing paradoxes hahahahah!!! but thanks Mr. j!!!!!

You'd be lucky enough to have a teacher like Mr. Johnson. Especially an English teacher, where he Criticizes the hell out of things, you will know what i mean if you have him. He was one of those teachers who you would least expect to be logical enough to understand where you're coming from, He's one in a few that can impact your high school years if you try to ask him for help,that's one of the things he does well. Helping. He will go on and on about what you can do better to improve on the essay that you're struggling to finish. He goes above and beyond to help you, BUT it is up to you if you ask him for help. I strongly suggest that you do so, he is a book filled with knowledge so take advantage of it. Mr. Johnson isn't like every other teacher, he comes ready to teach along with his well dressed self, i live up to that, i believe that if you look good, then you feel good, and if you feel good you do good ! Mr. Johnson provides his students with a variety of interesting books that will suit your interest. Mr. Johnson i have nothing to let you know on behalf of improving because you have provided more than enough information for us, and we THANK YOU ! You the MVP.

Mr.J did good this year for the first time back on teaching 11th grade you did engaging activities. Your the only teacher I know that is straight forward you made us realize a lot of things that could have affected us. But one thing that I would like for you to do better would be to force more classroom discussions, I feel like students would understand more if we would all talk about the topic as a class.

This semester I think Mr. J did really good trying to lead us on into answering his questions. Even though most of the time the class was quiet, he didn't give in and kept asking us questions until we were able to think and speak out. Also I like it when he tells his stories, it gives me thoughts of my future and experiences. As a student who had taken Mr.J's class for 3 years now, I could say that his teaching style to styles fit many grades of students. His classroom could be quiet at times, but those are just the students in their bubble and I think Mr.J should do community circles once a month to get to know the student who are shy to show themselves.

I haven't gotten to know you much, but i do really like the way you actually express yourself during teaching, it makes it slightly more interesting at times. if i had to choose one thing, it would probably be giving more details to the instructions you give out, to those who don't gasp information as well as others do.

Two things i liked about your class Mr.Johnson is the units you did , i like how its an english class but we learn about so much other things. But i think you should improve on more group activites so more people can collaborate and also for the class not to get distracted often , like sidetracked.
