Mr.J were do i start with you, you made my sophomore year AMAZING, and you pushed all of us to do better and i applaud you for that you showed me how to push myself and i can do it if i put my all in to it just like that book that you had me read BELOVED you are an excellent teacher and i couldn't have asked for a better ENGLISH teacher.

Mr. J when I had my first experience in your class I thought you were going to be very boring like my past English teachers. You have truly proven me wrong. The way you tech makes me look forward towards your class( at least when I don't have any major writing assignments). You are one of the few teachers who is truly enthusiastic about what you do. The energy you bring to the classroom is amazing. Please continue what you do because you have made me into a better writer I never thought I would be. Thanks

Mr Johnson .. I've known you for 2 years now and man its been some crazy times from when I was a freshman to now! But your a really good teacher and I feel like you care about your students and how they do in your class. you helped me evolve as a reader and a person. I think your a helpful person and you mean well and it helped me become a better writer and being able to understand English more. I find that he is a very helpful teacher and his methods of teachin are good they help become better. I think you should have a little bit more fun with your classes so that learning can be fun a lot of the time , also have more class discussions and give a little bit more detail on big projects. Mr. Johnson, Mr. Johnson first I got to say you are one of my favorite English teacher and to be honest you got me into reading way more than last year and you made me push myself on my writing and gave me feedback I need and you are straight up with it and that's I like how you teach and explain everything that it makes it clear to every single student and that goal you said towards the second semester I think you accomplished it .Now the improvements, you have no need to improve you are a great teacher and you know what you're doing :). Lastly, Have a WONDERFUL summer along with your wife!!!!!

Mr J's teaching methods were great and helpful. Implementing it must have been hard because we had to slowly adapt to the new things we learn from Mr J. But, I think to better the end result of the school project, Mr J could be extremely specific and precise, maybe by making rules on how to develop a brochure, handbook etc. But overall, Being in Mr J's class was a honour.

Mr. Johnson's was of teaching was awesome!!! I found really helpful that we do text logs every Thursday, because I feel that I'm a better writer now compare to how I was at the end of the year. It's really helpful that Mr. Johnson puts effort to have the class talk and discuss about the things that we believe and debate on it. I think Mr. Johnson's way of teaching is good already. Many students learn from his awesome teachings. Mr. Johnson you're an amazing teacher and continue to help other students to be AWESOME like you. Thank you so much for this awesome year.

Mr. Johnson's method(s) of instructions are just so awesome. i really love it and it helped me in so many ways. The way he makes us write like PEE's or the PQC's, they're just so smart and a great way of writing. Or like the journals he makes us write, A&B side, that's cool because it saves paper and it's not like we take up the whole journal. Plus, the word splash and kwl's on the walls is another great way because it helps us see what we are learning and the learning questions we have.

I agree! the PQC's and PEE or ABC's have helped me so much! I know I will use these methods in my writing all the time. Especially when I want to win an argument.

The fact that Mr. J had us do the planning that we wanted to write about. Honestly I didn't even want to do planning, because I thought I could do it with out planning but at the end it was worth it. I also like the fact that he helped me especially me in reading because I didn't really like to read. I think I just read more than I have ever read in a long time.

I can relate on the fact that you said you didn't like reading and how you read more than ever in a long time ! I was exactly like you I didn't dare touch of book because I thought reading was really boring. I have never got the chance to finish two books in a year that's something else ! but I did thanks to Mr.J and his awesome books.

I found that reading everyday made me a stronger reader. I think that his methods of teaching are good. 2 suggestions I have are that first we should read more. My other suggestion is we should do more projects.

Have your eyes on me. That method you used was helpful because it could stop everybody from what they are doing. Limit reading to about 10 minutes. If people are arguing you should send them downstairs no second chances. I had a wonderful time here in your classroom.

At valley I never read a book but here in Mr. Johnson's class I was able to choose what book I wanted to read and he always gave us time to read and at valley I never got time to read a single book

Mr j's teaching methods are great and i love the readings like the data sets but there is too much on it i don't mind highlighting and reading but when there is too much many other people like me start to feel lazy and don't even want to do the data sets and other stuff. so it would've been great if you didn't stop like i understand you want the attention but sometimes u do it for no reason so if your reading this right now to let you know how you did as a teacher you did great i was just lazy eheheh well im signing off

Mr.J has been a good teacher throughout my sophomore year. You have helped me understand the main things about reading and the proper way to write using methods like ABC's, PQC's, and PEE. even though I didn't get the chance to meet you last year your by so far one of the coolest English teacher I have had throughout my Freshman year. Thanks for all your help !!

I found that Mr. Johnson teaches his students to take risks with their writing. Mr. Johnson, you give your students a voice in the class. You allow us to work in groups to form our own opinions. I don't really have any suggestions of improvement for you, you provide us with PQC set-ups and conversation forum directions. You help all of your students in any way they need it. You're a good teacher.

Mr. Johnson has been a great teacher I've learned about the methods we can use in writing. It helped me get higher scores in my writing. I think he should slow down on the time and the work he gives us can't get finished in one day also we shouldn't get 3 assignments in one day it gets me frustrated.

Mr. Johnson, you are probably one of my enthusiastic teachers I've ever had. Its not a bad thing though ! I feel like i didn't grow as much, but then i look back and I've grown tremendously. You've taught me to take risks and read books. This year was the year I've read the most books in all my life. lol.

Mr.Johnson was the first the teacher that teach me use PQC because it really work when i write paragraphs or essay. Also, mr.johnson is cool teacher to me in sophomore because he teach learning way to us in class that we never know before. I just want to say that in your class i really enjoy because we always share thing in class and you call a student to repeat other students say. I say that "thankyou" for you because you alway take risk on your job and you didn't let your student fall behind other student,too.

Mr. Johnson made my sophomore year and it is literally my favorite English class(that not a very good title) and it has been a good year. I hope other people can enjoy this class like I did. What I liked(not really liked as school is meh) that he pushed us toward our goals of advancing. I suggest that you read a dictionary because your spelling is on par with eachother... And that isn't a good thing for either me or you. :P Keep the students engaged because I feel even though you try people still are falling asleep. Well that last line wasn't witty... Now it doesn't feel right... Eh, whatever, Evil Weirdo, OUT!

The class itself was a good place that was hectic at times but we still learned. Your teaching methods are kind of interesting at some points. You talk a lot which offers us different input on your opinion on different subjects. You alleviated our boredom in the less enthusiastic subjects. Try to be more out going with the more difficult to touch subjects like saying that we suck at what we are doing. Failure is needed to improve on your success. Their is a lot that you can offer and its great but make sure that you don't over do it. Their really isn't anything that I can say to improve. You should try to add more time to our time limit.

Mr. Johnson, comparing my reading and writing skills from when the school year started to right now the improvement has been amazing. I honestly consider you one of the best English teachers I have had. There's only one thing I think you should improve and that is timing for everything we do. Sometimes it is good to be timed on assignments but there's times where you literally say "you have ten seconds to write it" and then you set the timer on the microwave. This can make us feel a little bit pressured at times. Other than this your class is amazing.

In Mr. J's class i found out that i actually like to read a lot of books because at first i did not like to read at all now I'm reading almost five books a month ! also, I've learned how to become a better writer. My writing is getting better every time i right something new. even though my writing is getting better i still personally hate to write. Mr.J doesn't need to improve nothing about his class or his teaching. but sometimes he should just let his students read articles and not him just reading to us all the time. overall Mr. J's class was one of my favorite classes and one of my favorite teacher, i wish he would just teach all grades.

Mr. Johnson helped me a lot this year because last year I really didn't want to do anything and really didn't pay attention much, but this year Mr. Johnson techniques helped me pay more attention to what we were talking about & learned. Think alouds really helped me out a lot! it made me understand what was I reading and to understand what was the message of the writer. Thank you Mr. Johnson for making me a better writer, forever favourite English teacher!

Johnson's way of teaching is in my perspective motivating and pushing me to grow as a writer. An example of this is when Mr.Johnson times us, that really gets me doing my work and trying to do good at the same time.

Thanks Mr.Johnson you helped me develop my writing and reading skills. This year I understood arguing my point better backing everything up as well. I read 22 books thanks for spending so much time getting books for all of us to enjoy. Not only was this class educational and helpful but it was fun also.

Mr. Johnson you helped me a lot in my writing . I feel like last year i didn't get as challenged as I did this year in your class . I know sometimes I hated when we had to write because i was tired and didn't feel like writing . But now I like it . Also thanks for getting me into reading . I used to hate reading or I used to read like 2 books per year but this year I really improved thanks to you and your choice of books .

+During my time in Mr.J's 10th grade English class I learned how to express my feelings more in my writings, connect with certain stories and articles and interpret things. I also read more than usually but they were really good books. He helped me become a better writer. To improve the class I think the students next year should have more reading time and it should be less talking because that used to be so boring. omg

Mr j the way you do the read aloud, you need to keep it up. But when its coldvin the classroom i cant think straight maybe youshould keep it at 70°. Also some kids dont like their partners so mamaybe you should let them pick their own partners. Last you should do more read alouds and text logs because theyre a good source of learning. Stay cool aha !

I found it interesting how we engaged towards each other during our debates making us more sociable and comfortable around each other. Also i liked how you made the class so entertaining instead of simple things like small pictures instead you decorated it with meaning and also they were resourceful at times.Also the big difference was when you made the sting reference for the essays and how you let us watch movies to then part by part discuss the content and also the main point of the film itself of most that were for the whole point of watching movies and i suggest teaching more anti corrupt government things for your class and how it effects us

First of all i wanna thank you Mr johnson for pushing me to do better and for all the great things you have done not just for me but for all your students. I just want to say that this last teo years have been good and i really have improved academically. I always liked how since freshman year you told us how reading its very important and you taught us how to write better essays and stories . Without your help i wouldnt of realized i know how to write pretty good poems . Anyways there is no suggestions on how to make the class better because you are already an awesome teacher . At first, I thought Mr. Johnson teaching was a little weird but, then I started to realize his teaching really help me understand what I'm reading, writing, and thinking. Ways I think the class can be improve is by giving us a little bit more reading time, only because you always stop me at a good part. And also one other thing that the class can improve is for us to stop interrupting the teacher. I really enjoyed this class and Mr. Johnson you are a awesome teacher and I'm really happy that I got you as my teacher.

Mr. J has been an excellent teacher for these two passed years. espically looking back on freshman year.Lol Mr. J teaching method is really skilled you learn alot. Mr. j has taught me not to write as much. i used to write pages and pages and pages. he said there really was no point of all that. since then i find my writing alot better.i think next year mr. j should try somehting with vocabulary. vocabualry has huge impact inthe year of 2014. i also think teachers should have new seating charts. sitting next to the same person all year long gets boring. having a new "Homie" would make things more intersing getting to know someone better and making new friends. i just want to say thankyou Mr. J for all youve done this past 2 years. ill be sure to stop by.

In the beginning of the year the way he teached was weird. but in the long run it helped me read ,write, and interpret what I'm reading.One suggestion is that you should let us read more.The other one is you should be more clear about what your teaching.

I really love Mr. Johnson's way of teaching and I'm not just saying that because he is going to read this. But like I have done really good this year in English and I use to hate it with a passion. All year I have maintained a A-B average which would have never happen in the past. I think I have done really well because of the way Mr. J taught this year and I am really thankful for that.

Mr. j taught me how to write and he pushed me to read. I never used to read until I came to his class. I have grown in the reading section. I read a lot now. And that is what Mr. j helped me in :)

I don't even know were to start off. just the way of my thinking. my writing skills. You made me see things a whole lot differently. You made my sloppiness turn into almost Awesome writing. THANK YOU. i think you should make instructions a bit more clear. Because sometimes I don't even know what we are writing about and im just straight lost. Also every writing piece should be worth your grade. because they are just going to be writing a whole bunch of bullshit and you just give them points for a shity job.

I really enjoyed having you as a teacher. Some things you can improve is to not give a long lecture for the smallest thing. Other than that i really liked the Las Vegas unit because it helped me improve my writing.
